Karen Withers
Karen Withers was born in Corpus Christi, and grew up in Round Rock, Texas. After high school she attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree. Four years later, she returned to the University of Texas and completed a Texas Teaching Credential in Elementary and Middle School Education. She married her high school sweetheart and has two sons.
Karen’s experience began in retail management, including working as a District Sales Manager. However, her passion was always teaching and coaching. Her skills in leadership, teaching, communication, and mentoring helped those she led to reach their goals. As an elementary school teacher and children’s leader for Bible Study Fellowship, she has developed strong skills with children, leading them to reach their potential and developing a personal and vibrant relationships with their Savior.
Karen has worked consistently in her children’s school as a member and/or board member of each of their PTA or PTSA organizations. She has taken on more responsibility in the district, sitting on committees such as Site Base Representative for each school, Boundary Committee, and most recently as Chair for the Mental Health subcommittee for her district’s Student Health Advisory Council.
Karen helped start and lead Moms in Prayer groups who pray for their children’s school each week. Several years ago, she answered the call to become the Williamson County Area Coordinator of Moms in Prayer International.
Karen discovered Head to Heart Restoration Ministry and Temperament Therapy while seeking counseling after the death of her mother and experiencing other life difficulties. Through her counselor she personally witnessed the Holy Spirit bring light and life to the dark, hurting parts of her heart. Wanting to learn more about this process that restores hope, she began studying Temperament Therapy, working toward a Master’s Degree in Pastoral Counseling. It is her deepest desire to help others find this same healing through Biblical principles, opening up a new life with a positive and purposeful future.
